Celebrity Kids Tattoos: Kelly Osbourne

Like father like daughter Kelly Osbourne and Ozzy Osbourne share the same love for tattoos. If you were a fan of The Osbourne’s MTV reality show you know that Kelly got her first tattoo on the show a small pink heart on her hip. Neither Ozzy or Sharon were pleased with this tattoo mainly because she was underage. Kelly didn’t stop at the tiny little tattoo she has a total of eleven tattoos.
Here’s a list of all eleven.
1. A skull and crossbones on top of both of her feet.
2. Small angle wings on her back
3. An outline of a star on the back of her neck.
4. A very small pink heart on her hip.
5. A ship’s anchor in the back of her forearm.
6. A very small pink heart on her little finger.
7. A padlock with a key and a banner with the word Daddy above it.
8. A keyboard on the back of her right forearm.
9. The name Jack on her wrist (for her brother)
10. A blue heart with crossbones coming out of it above her right hand.
11. I love my mommy written in French between her angel wings.
When Kelly was staring in ABC show “Life as we know it” she had to go through the long process of covering up her tattoos everyday which she hated. “I have to go in an hour early every day to get my tattoos covered up,” Osbourne moaned. “It’s such a process, because the stuff they put it on with is like water color paints, so you put a layer on and it dries, and then another layer, and then another. They have so much stuff to cover it up – it takes so long, it’s so weird.”

Wait It Out
One of the hardest things for a tattooed person to do is resit the temptation to get another tattoo. Tattoos have an very strange controlling power over people, kind of like an addition. So if you are a weak person and can succumb to cravings very easily you want to stay away from the tattoo world all together. Mainly because you will soon find yourself covered in tattoos and not know what happened.
The best course of action to take isn’t stay away from them completely, you just need to be strong and not out and get a tattoo every time you feel the urge to do so. The best thing to do is try and wait it out and see if it really is something you really want to do or if it is the tattoo gun calling you for another fix. A great piece of advice would be wait a month or two and see if you still feel as strongly about getting another tattoo. If the urge and desire is still there than go for it. If it isn’t you will be thanking yourself for not going through with it and having to deal with an unwanted tattoo later on in life.
We all know that tattoos are permanent and forever that is unless you want to endure the awful pain of going to several laser tattoo removal session and spend a very large sum of money, you are stuck with it for the rest of your life. So pick wisely and never go and get a tattoo for the sake of getting one.

Portrait Tattoos

Through the years portrait tattoos have always seemed to be a favorite with tattoo enthusiasts. There is just something very special about getting a portrait tattoo. Not to mention if you have an excellent tattoo artist that does outstanding portrait tattoos, you get endless amount of compliments on it. It also opens the door for you explain and share the story behind the person’s or animals’ portrait you have tattooed on you.
The most common portrait tattoos are of loved ones who have past away as well as a beloved pet and of course your children. Just like with text tattoos, it’s not such a great idea to get a lover’s portrait tattooed on your body either. One thing you need to keep in mind about portrait tattoos is that they are different than regular tattoos. Some tattoo artist do not do portrait tattoos because they feel that won’t be able to capture the person you are wanting tattooed on you. So the important thing to know is to ask your tattoo artist if they have experience with portrait tattoos and if they are not comfortable doing one. If they are not don’t hesitate to ask them to recommend another artist in the studio that is more qualified for the job. Also don’t hesitate for a second to let your tattoo artist know if you do not like what they have drawn up. Ask them to be involved in the process, nine times out of ten they want you to be. Always remember to voice your opinion of your tattoo design, if you don’t like what they have come up with be honest and let them know. After all you are the one who has to live with the tattoo not them.

Celebrity Tattoos: Janet Jackson

Her first name isn’t baby, it’s Janet, Ms. Jackson if your are nasty. It seems that Ms. Jackson lives up to the nasty name of hers because Janet has a very interesting nasty tattoo of her own. She also has a small collection of other tattoos. Just like so many other celebrities Janet’s tattoos are not very flashy and barely noticeable.
Here’s a list of Janet’s four tattoos.
1. She has a Borneo-style scorpion design on the small of her back.
2. A Japanese kanji on the back of her neck is sometimes described as symbolizing balance and continuity and sometimes as friendship. Janet shared this kanji tattoo with two of her best friends who work with her as dancers.
3. She has a “Sankofa” on the inside of her right wrist. It’s a symbol taken from King Adinkera of the Akan people from West Africa. It means “it is not taboo to go back and fetch what you forgot.”
4. Janet’s last tattoo (nasty) tattoo is on the crease of her right thigh. It is Mickey and Minnie Mouse doing something very naughty. Minnie is giving oral to Mickey.
Many people raise their eyebrows at Janet’s rather nasty and maybe inappropriate tattoo. But Janet doesn’t really see it that way. Janet has admitted to having done a lot of sexual experimentation in her 20s and 30s, and the rather nasty and unusual tattoo of the Disney characters “doing the nasty” as she phrases it, Janet views this tattoo has rather humorous to her as well as being symbolic that she feels sex is good and should be fun.

Tattoo Sterotypes

Even though tattoos have grown in popularity through the years there are still plenty of people out there that have negative things to say about tattoos. There are several incorrect tattoo stereotypes out there. People need to learn that just because someone has a tattoo it doesn’t mean they are trashy and do not make good decisions.
The most common tattoo stereotype for a man with tattoos is that he is a wild reckless, criminal or biker. A woman on the other hand is considered to be trashy and or a biker chick. A lot of people view tattoos on a woman as a horrible blemish you can never get to go away and that a woman should never deface their beautiful body with a tattoo. The number one misconception about woman with tattoos is that they may not have much self respect for themselves. Woman also have to deal with the “Tramp Stamp” label (which is a tattoo on a woman’s lower back). Of course none of these negative stereotypes are usually true. But there are always expectations to the rule for both sexes.
There are numerous well respected wealthy people out there with tattoos. Yes even doctors, lawyers, and other very professional people sport tattoos. Just because you display a little bit of body art does not mean you are a horrible wild and crazy up to no good person. Society needs to reprogram itself when it comes to tattoos. Just because someone has a little bit of body art it doesn’t mean that they are shady or trashy. You never know someone with a tattoo could end up saving your life one day.

When In Doubt, Get A Text Tattoo

One of the hardest decisions that one has to make when considering getting a tattoo is what design to actually get inked on their skin. There are literally an endless amount of possibilities when it comes to this so picking the right design can be rather difficult at times. If you are having some trouble picking out a tattoo design you could always go with a text tattoo. A text tattoo is some sort of writing, like a name, initial, saying, or even numbers. Tattoo artist around the United States say that text tattooing has grown tremendously in the past couple of years. They says they get numerous people asking them to tattoo some sort of word, phrase or other kind of writing on them.
Of course just because you decide to get a text tattoo doesn’t mean your decision on what to actually get tattooed is going to be easier. But for instance, you could always get your initial tattooed on you or your last name, or a date of a very special occasion in your life. Or you could always go with the classic “Love” tattoo somewhere on your body. If that isn’t something you want you can always go with your beloved pets name or one of your children’s names. But try to stay away from your lovers name, those tattoos never end up being a good thing. Mainly because you honestly can’t count on being with that person for the rest of your life, because things happen. If you don’t like any of those you could go with a phrase you like, “What goes around comes around.” or a line from your favorite song or a quote from one of your favorite movies. Just give it some time and some serious thought and you’ll be able to come up with something good.

Underage Tattooing
Believe it or not underage tattooing is on the raise, more teenagers under the legal age of 18 are coming home with a tattoo. One may not consider this a huge ordeal but the legal age for getting a tattoo in the United States is 18 years old. If you are a minor and get a tattoo you have broken the law as well as the tattoo artist who tattooed you. No reputable tattoo artist should knowingly tattoo a minor and if they have they should be ashamed of themselves. A lot of parents are outrage by this and have taken action in suing the tattoo studios that have tattooed their underage children.
One may wonder what is the big fuss about underage tattoos. Well for one teenagers don’t always make the best decisions and are influenced very easily. Let’s face it teenagers don’t even know what they are going to wear the next day, much less what tattoo they want on their body for the rest of their lives. Also teenagers are notorious for constantly changing their minds. Think for a moment when you are in high school you had a completely different outlook on life and thought you were invincible and your likes, dislikes and opinions are fairly different that they would be as an adult. The moral of this story is teenagers under the age of 18 are not mature enough to make a life altering decision of getting a tattoo. Some parents urge lawmakers to change the tattooing age to 20 or 21 because they still feel 18 is too young to make this decision. If you are underage and are contemplating getting a tattoo illegally, keep in mind a good tattoo studio cards their customers and will make a photocopy of their ID just to cover their butts in case there are any disputes. While tattoos are cool and a great form of self-expression it is not cool to break the law.

To My Readers
It has been brought to my attention that some of my readers are a little confused at some of my postings. I want to set the record straight. I am a tattoo lover and I like tattoos, I have nothing against them. The only reason I promote small tattoos is because a large percentage of people who get tattooed especially woman seem to regret their tattoo decision later on in life. Also because I regret the size of one of my tattoos and wish it was smaller. All I want to do is educate young people on the seriousness of getting a tattoo and to hopefully help them make the right decision when it comes to getting their tattoo. After all they are forever! You can’t just wake up one morning and say, “I don’t really want this thing anymore.”
Another reason I promote smaller tattoos is because in today’s society tattoos are still looked down upon and if you want to get any kind of good paying job your tattoos could cost you the job. When we are young we think we are invincible and that we rule the world and don’t think about how large tattoos could effect our jobs later in life. All I want to do is inform people on some things they may not be thinking about at the time. And yes the reason you get a tattoo is for yourself and you shouldn’t care what other people think. But you also need to be aware of how a large portion of the world feels about tattoos to help you make a better decision on the size and location of your tattoo because you may find a hard time finding a good job. More and more employers are cracking down on employees having tattoos and if you want to survive in this world you are going to need some kind of job. So you will have to succumb to these rules.

How Many Tattoos Are Too Many?
I guess this all depends on who you ask. Some people may say one tattoo is too many while others may say four, eight or ten. The point of the matter is you are the only one who can really decide how many tattoos is too many. Of course the size and location of the tattoo also plays a huge part in this decision. For instance, a very attractive looking girl could have a fairly large tattoo on her upper arm, that is a little gaudy and distasteful so some would say that one is too many. While some other girl could have ten tattoos and not be perceived as trashy and having too many tattoos, simply because her tattoos are small and in places that are not so noticeable.
Let’s look at Rihanna for example, she has several tattoos and counting, but she has her tattoos very tastefully done and they are also in not so noticeable places, plus a majority of them are rather small. So this just goes to show one woman can have over ten tattoos and people won’t think she is going overboard and has too many tattoos because they are not gaudy or over sized. So the moral of this story is to be extra careful when deciding where to put your tattoo. The location could mean whether or not people think you are out of your mind, trashy and or crazy. The best rule of thumb to follow when deciding to get a tattoo is try to stay small and tasteful. For some strange reason people seem not to criticizes as much if you have several small tattoos rather than one very large tattoo. But then again you get tattoos for you and no one else. On the other hand if you don’t want to spend the rest of your life hearing people whisper about your over sized tattoo and how trashy it looks, you best go with a small tasteful one.
