Dita Von Teese Talks Tattoos

When one first thinks of the famous burlesque dancer, Dita Von Tesse, tattoos don’t necessarily come to mind. But Dita has a little secret. She has one tattoo and it is very noticeable and out in the open. Almost no one until now knew it was a tattoo. The famous mole on her left cheek is actually not a mole at all, it is a tattoo. It seems that Dita didn’t plan on getting this timeless birthmark tattooed on her face. She actually went into the tattoo parlor and asked for a star to be tattooed on her cheek instead. Thank goodness for the tattoo artist she spoke to because he talked her out of that regretful tattoo and suggested she get something a little more timeless and elegant. Thus her beauty mark, mole tattoo was born.
You have to understand I was pretty eccentric. I was always drawing hearts and stars in that spot. I went in thinking I wanted a star there, but they wouldn’t do it.
They were the voice of reason. They were so right.”
Dita’s beauty mark tattoo is not the only tattoo she thought about getting when she was younger. She had her heart set on getting seams tattooed on the back of her legs, to show the illusion she was wearing stockings all the time. But she came to her senses and decided against it.
In the early nineties I almost got seams (tattooed) up the back of my legs but I’m so glad I didn’t. Can you imagine how hard it would be to match up the seams with real stockings? It would have been a nightmare.
At that time I was researching everything about the forties, about how during World War II women would draw seams on. I thought, ‘Wouldn’t that be cool?’ I had them henna tattooed on, but I never went all the way.”

New Tattoo Ink Makes Removal Easier

There has been some controversy over this new tattoo ink that has come out. The new tattoo ink has been out since the fall of 2007 but some people are claiming that the ink doesn’t do what everyone claims it does. This new ink is permanent as well as removable. It is made by storing dye in microscopic capsules that will stay in the skin for good. But if you wake up one day and decide you no longer want your tattoo or regret it one day, it can simply be zapped away with a single laser treatment that is simpler and less painful than the barrage of treatments now needed.
People are now coming forward who have gotten a tattoo with this new “removable” ink and are saying the removal process isn’t as easy as the makers of this new ink are saying. For instance they state you will only have to under go one laser tattoo removal session. Well real life people are auguring that it takes six sessions just like it would with the old traditional ink.
The bottom line is people are missing the whole point about getting a tattoo. A tattoo is meant to be permanent and be with you the rest of your life. If you feel you won’t be able to live with a tattoo for the rest of your life, simply don’t get one. Don’t rely on a new ink method to save you. The cost of laser tattoo removal is far more expensive than getting a tattoo and it is pretty much guaranteed even with this new tattoo ink that you will have to under go multiple sessions to get rid of your tattoo. Not only does this new ink cost considerably more than your traditional tattoo ink, but if you decide you don’t want this tattoo anymore you will have to shell out even more money to get it removed. Simply put think before you ink. A tattoo is a life committment if you feel you can’t make it than you are not cut out to have a tattoo.

Be Responsible When It Comes To A Tattoo

The main reason so many states want to raise the age of tattooing is because the law-makers feel that people that are 18 years of age are still incapable of making the right decision when it comes to getting some body art. Getting a tattoo is very serious business, after all you will have this design with you literally for the rest of your life. This is why it is so important to make the right decisions when it comes to picking out your tattoo design. You should never just walk into a tattoo parlor and say “yeah I’ll take that one” and point to some random design on the wall or in a book. You need to be responsible when it comes to getting a tattoo and picking out your design.
While many high school seniors and college students are on spring break they need to keep in mind that drinking and tattoos absolutely do not go together. One of the worst possible things that can happen is getting so wasted and waking up in the morning with a tattoo and have no memory of it. Even worse the tattoo that you got is something embarrassing or just plain ridiculous. This is why it is important to be sober and not to let people influence you to get a tattoo. Unfortunately, this happens to far too many people over spring break because things just get out of hand. If you feel you might fall victim to the meaningless drunk, spring break tattoo, try your hardest to be in an area that doesn’t have a tattoo parlor for miles.

Tattoos Are Appealing To More And More Teenagers

There is denying that the popularity of tattoos has grown tremendously over the last decade or so. In fact a recent study that was conducted and conculded that at least 40% of people from the age of 18 to 40 had at least one tattoo. With a vast majority of these people being teenagers. What was also found was that more and more teenagers are taking in account that tattoos are forever and are putting a lot of thought and consideration into picking out their tattoo design.
However, the resoing behind these teenagers wanting to get tattoos is more so to fit in or look cool to their peers. It has been reported that a large number of teenagers get tattoo to impress friends or to fit into a crowd. These are obviously the wrong reasons to get a tattoo. A tattoo is a form of self-expression and should be gotten only for the person that is getting that tattoo and no one else. Getting a tattoo is a lifetime commiment. Getting a tattoo to fit into a crowd in high school or college are all the wrong reasons.
On the flip the same number if not more teenagers are realzing the seroiusness of tattoos and are being more responsible with their tattoo designs and more importnantly the location of the tattoo. It seems that teenagers now a days know the importance of getting a good job and they are aware that good paying jobs don’t like for their empoyees to have visible tattoos. So all in all it seems that teenagers these days are not as “dumb” as a lot of adults think they are when it comes to tattoos.

Celebrity Tattoos: Ben Affleck

When one thinks of Ben Affleck the first thing that comes to mind is a Hollywood hunk not a man that has several tattoos covering his shoulders. arms and back. Most people are not aware of Ben’s little tattoos collection, the main reason behind that is Ben is ashamed of his ink now. He admits he got most of his ink when he was around 16 and wishes he would not have chosen half of the designs he did.
Below is a list of some of Ben’s tattoo collection that he now regrets.
1. Barb wire across his right bicep.
2. A dolphin located somewhere on his body covering up the name of his High School Sweetheart.
3. A huge cross on his left arm.
4. A fish intertwined with a skull and crossbones on his right arm.
5. The initials “OV” on his shoulder blade with MOH NON TE written above it and TA OR underneath it.
Ben majorly regrets all of his tattoos and does not have a problem admitting it. He is even interested in getting his tattoos removed by a laser.
I was young. It was fun and cool. I’m sorry now, but it is a good lesson in decisions that have important and long repercussions.“
Ben also says that he tries to stay away from roles that require him to be shirtless or wear short sleeves because he hates the make up you have to wear to cover up tattoos. He states that the process is very time consuming and a little strange.
It’s the equivalent of being sand-blasted, but it leaves the tattoo undetectable.“
The main reason Ben is ready to get rid of his tattoos has to do with his acting.
“They get in the way of my being able to play someone else. Every time I’m sitting in a makeup chair or putting on a costume I’m reminded
I’m me, not the person I’m supposed to be playing.”

Recession Isn’t Hurting The Tattoo Business

With the horrible shape the economy is in right now people are having to cut back spending on a lot of things they normally wouldn’t think twice about. One would think that a tattoo would fall in this category. But despite the declining economy the tattoo business does not seem to be affected. Some tattoo parlors are actually reporting an increase in business.
One tattoo parlor in particular in Seattle has seen an increase in business compared to the numbers they were pushing out last year at this time. The only explanation that the workers there have is the their clientele is geared more towards younger, blue collar workers, who haven’t necessarilybeen effected by foreclosures and the lack there of stock market. They also explain that to their clients they feel a tattoo is a worthy investment and it can never be taken away from you no matter how far behind you fall on your bills.
Another explanation that has been given is that a good tattoo cost a good junk of change so this requires an individual to save up for their desired tattoo. Which not only gives them time to think about their design to make sure it is something they want and can live with for the rest of their life but it also keeps the doors to the tattoo parlors open.
In conclusion one may think spending $200 on some body art is a waste of money but its not different than a woman buying a $800 handbag or someone buying a $2,000 mint condition toy that will never be played with. Everyone has a different perspective on what is important to them.

What To Expect After Getting A Tattoo

Now that the exciting part of getting a tattoo is over, there are a few things that you should be educated about when it comes to the after part. First and foremost you should know that after the hour is up and you take your bandage off there is a high possibility that there will be some pus and blood on the bandage. This is 100% normal so this should not alarm you. Secondly, you need to make sure whenever you touch your tattoo that your hands are clean. New tattoos are susceptible to bacteria and if the wrong kind of bacteria gets into your skin then you could be in trouble. Thirdly, do not rub your tattoo with a towel or anything. After you are done cleaning it or getting out of the shower pat it dry or let it air dry.
Another important thing one should know that your tattoo will be sore and possibly painful for a few days. This too is normal. If you find your tattoo stinging really bad or itching really bad, try putting an ice cube on it for a few seconds to ease the pain and itching. No matter what you do, do not scratch your new tattoo. You need to make sure that your tattoos scab falls off on its own, if it doesn’t it will look like it has white little dots all in it. Also when you are taking a shower it is common for your tattoo to sting really bad when the water hits it. Just try your best to keep your new tattoo out of the water. Furthermore, it is also common for your tattoo to hurt when pressure is put on the surrounding area. For example, if you get a tattoo on your shoulder blade and you lean back in a chair, or the couch be prepared for it to hurt. Lastly, try to wear clothing that will not rub up against it, it will help the tattoo to heal better and it will help with your comfort level.

New Henna Tattoo Law In Panama City FL

The Bay County commissioners passed a law in Panama City FL on Tuesday. The new law requires any shop or store that offers henna tattoos to post a sign informing customers that the temporary henna ink may not be so temporary and that it may cause a serve allergic reaction. The law also states that this sign must be in clear view and within 10 feet of where the henna tattoo with be administered.
In all fairness there have been quite a few cases of people having severe allergic reactions to the henna tattoo ink. However, the people that are experiencing these problems got them in foreign countries. Also the ink that was used was not the traditional brownish henna ink it was black. Some experts are claiming it is the black ink that causes these problems due to the chemical component called PPD that is in them, but the brownish ones seem to still be safe. Regardless of the location and ink color law makers have decided it is worth covering their rear-ends to make sure customers are aware of these problems.
The likelihood of you having an allergic reaction to the ink is problem not very high but if you have sensitive skin or have any doubts that you would have some sort of reaction, then you simply should just stay away from the henna tattoo. There are other options to temporary tattoos. One you can get a temporary tattoo or you can get a tattoo air-brushed on you. Both of these will only last a few days where as henna would last anywhere from 1 to 4 weeks. Of course you could also go with the real tattoo that last forever, but be certain about your design if you go that route.
