It can be a very hard decision to decide whether or not you want to get a tattoo. After all there are a few things you need to take into consideration before getting some ink on your skin. The number one thing you need to be ok with, is that this tattoo design will be with you for the rest of your life. There are ways of getting rid of it but they are very painful and expensive. Also you need to think out the proper location on your body. Lastly, remember that you are going to get older there is nothing that can be done about that. So will you be ok with having this tattoo or several tattoos when you are in your 80’s?

If you answered yes and have already decided the right location on your body for your tattoo, the next step is finding a good tattoo artist. This can be done a number of ways. One you can talk to friends or someone you may know that has tattoos and ask them questions about their tattoo artist. This method is probably the one most used. A lot of tattoo business is done by word of mouth. However, if you do not know anyone with a tattoo are do not feel comfortable approaching strangers and asking them, you can simply just walk into local tattoo parlors in your area and talk to the tattoo artists and look at their books of their work and decide if they would be a good fit for you.

Any advice on picking a tat artist for UV tats? So I’m getting a tat, and I want to ad accents of UV ink, the ink only seen under black lights. It’s different, I’ve never seen anyone else with it, and I like that I can still see it in certain clubs, etc, when it’s dark if a uv light it going. So considering it’s a rare ink done by a hand few. How would you suggest picking an artist who could pull off the uv ink with it being their first time?

More people than you may think have these tats. The only thing I can tell you is to ask your tattoo artist. If they can;’t do it maybe they know someone who can.

It is very common in the US, at least it was for a while.. It was a huge fad for a while, like finger mustaches.. A lot of reputable shops will not do UV ink. One reason is the long term effects are not known yet. Some are just so annoyed by the UV ink fad that they just don’t bother. But any tattoo artist who has UV ink can do it.. It doesn’t requite a different skill set.. You don’t need an artist who specializes in UV ink, especially if it’s only for small accents.
